Is Group Checkins a good idea for Diabetes Patients?

Is Group Checkins a good idea for Diabetes Patients?

A group of Doctors looking for new and innovative ways to better care for patients with diabetes, are starting to consider and plan for group checkins. They are looking to start with diabetes as well as high blood pressure.

These group checkins will be longer than the avg visit , from and hour and half to two hours. The extended time will allow the patients to ask the Doctor more questions, hear more tips for managing their diabetes, and get a chance to learn from other patients in addition to the doctor.

This is an important move, as over time doctors caring for patents with diabetes have less and less time to spend with the patients and teach them how to manage their disease.

We here at Diabetes insider will continue to monitor and report on this group checkin trend.
