Diabetics must always be under medical care. They have to monitor the levels of insulin in their bodies and watch what they eat and drink for the remainder of their natural life. Uncontrolled diabetes, of either type can be fatal or produce extremely serious consequences to body and limb. Millions of diabetics all around the world lead perfectly normal lives with this condition. While diabetes is under control and medical supervision it poses no danger to the patient.
Certain conditions must be met though for
diabetes to remain at a standstill without producing farther damage to the patient. Weight is a very important factor that must be observed closely. This includes of types of diabetes. It is imperative that a diabetic keep his weight within the ranges recommended according to his height. Losing weight will take some pressure of his heart, liver and pancreas. It will also cleanse his system of harmful toxins and chemicals that have been accumulating for years.
Continuous and permanent control of his glucose levels is the most critical and important factor. Even if he is feeling well he must check his insulin levels constantly and daily. Taking his medication exactly how it was indicated is also imperative. His medication may be either producing the insulin he needs or it may be complementing the insulin his body is producing so permanent ingestion is absolutely necessary. This does not mean that if he misses a dose he will take double the next time, no, this is dangerous. Dosage has been calculated to cover his needs for a certain period of time and doubling it will not help.
A good healthy diet plan is also necessary. This does not mean he has to starve himself or quit eating this or that. It means that he must eat sensible portions of everything including carbohydrates and fats. The body needs them to function but they must be controlled and combined with foods rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins. Three square meals and small snacks in between composed of nuts or a fruit will help lose weight and also stop the food cravings. They will allow your body to rest and work at a normal pace and not in overdrive.
Exercise is another element that will help keep glucose in check. Exercise promotes the increase of metabolic rates; metabolism is the process by which the body burns glucose. When you exercise the body consumes the glucose produced instead of storing it, this keeps your liver healthy and your pancreas gets a break so it can recuperate and rest. Another factor that helps is reducing stress to acceptable levels; stress weakens and affects every part of your body. Rest is also important, a good night sleep allows the body to heal itself and recuperate for the next day. The most important factors to consider are overweight, permanent medication and glucose control and a healthy diet. When you combine these three factors you can live a perfectly normal life even with
diabetes.
