Lowering Your Blood Sugar Level Using Dental Treatment
This is good news for people with diabetes. Recently, it was found that treatment for dental might lower blood sugar. It surely helps people with diabetes to reduce their blood sugar level without drugs. The research was announced on international Cochrane Collaboration as a part of it. The research was involving a scientist from UCL Eastman Dental Institute, Peninsula Dental School, and Ottawa University.
Well, it is surprising news but scientists in Edinburgh University have confirmed the study. They analyze when gum inflammation causing by bacteria occur, blood sugar in people with diabetes also rising. It because bacteria release some chemical that lessens the efficiency of insulin when infect gum.
When you go to a dentist to treat your teeth or gum, they will use some medicine or drugs to reduce inflammation on your gum. Reduce inflammation means to clean your mouth from bacteria and its chemical. This will shrink blood sugar level in people with diabetes, although the percentage is not big.
It makes a new gate between doctors and dentists to collaborate observing this discovery to find a more effective diabetes cure. The leader of the team, Dr Terry Simpson assumes that diabetes and serious gum disease may be linked. Therefore, it really helps for people with diabetes to treat their disease by maintaining good dental health. It is also keep control their blood sugar by using insulin, drugs or medicine, and diet plan, which is the basic treatment for diabetic.
