Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body produces insulin, but the body is unable to utilize the secreted insulin for some unknown reason. This type of reaction is sometimes referred to as insulin resistance. The type 2 diabetes usually occurs after the age of 45. It is also known as adult hood onset diabetes mellitus. But this name is not widely used since, this type of diabetes also occur in children. This type of diabetes can be controlled by the use of dieting techniques.

The type 2 diabetes is unlike the type 1 diabetes. It has a strong links with the genetics. This suggests that it is hereditary disease and it run through families. At present, research has showed the several genes that are responsible for the developing of the type 2 diabetes and there are going on research for several other genes also. There several factors that are responsible for the developing of the type 2 diabetes are high blood pressure, high intake of dietary fat, high amounts of alcoholic intake, high blood triglycerides, the gestational diabetes, obesity, overweight, sedentary lifestyle, ethnicity and aging.

What are the symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes?

The type 2 diabetes often occurs after the adolescence. It develops at an older age when compared to the type 1 diabetes. The most common symptoms of type 2 diabetes may include the developing of hyperosmolar nonketotic syndrome, organ damage and permanent failure of internal organs. The type 2 diabetes can be deadly and can lead to severe inabilities if left untreated. Symptoms of type 2 diabetes can develop slowly and will be very difficult to diagnose. To overcome this periodic medically examinations must be done.
